Snegirev Vladimir Fedorovich (27.06 (09.07) .1847 – 12.19.1916 (01.01.1917)), Russian physician, one of the founders of gynecology as a scientific discipline in Russia.
In 1870 graduated from the Medical fakulet Moscow University, from 1884 professor of the University. Gynaecological diseases considered as a disease of the whole organism, not just the reproductive system.
Major works on operative gynecology: A number of new methods of removal of the ovaries, uterus, treatment of malformations of female genital mutilation (surgery with a double uterus and double vagina, etc.), fixation of the vagina when it started and roll, etc.
